Support the Museum

Volunteer

The museum encourages anyone with a love of history and/or community to become a volunteer. We have special projects as well as docent positions.  Experience is not required. For the project’s curator, Chery Carr Holtman will involve you in a variety of “chores” needing to be done in our wonderful 1850s-1860s building.

For docents, our coordinator is Pat Gradwohl who will train and answer all of your questions.  She will arrange your 3-hour commitment per month to work with your schedule.  This is a great way to volunteer and learn more Clay County history.

Contact the museum at (816) 792-1849 or email us at ClayCountyMuseum@gmail.com to volunteer today or for further information on how you can be a part of our 60+ year legacy.

Donations

Monetary donations are always appreciated and are governed by the Board of Trustees, ensuring your money will be used to continue the Museum’s mission of preservation and presentation.  All donations are tax deductible, as the Museum is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.  If you prefer to direct where your donation will be used, the Museum has a “Giving Tree” which lists numerous needs.  Come by and select where your help is used.

Memberships

As a nonprofit organization, the Museum depends on donations and memberships.  Our membership dues are nominal but extremely helpful to keep our doors open and the lights on.  Please consult our Membership Page and become a part of our Museum family.

We look forward to hearing from you and appreciate your support!
